but I told you so!!! What you ask? Some people MIGHT remember this lovely journal entry I wrote around three years ago in which I spoke and drooled all over an epic Zelda Movie trailer done by BMB FINISHES based upon the game Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Those who don't remember or never read that journal, please follow [link]
Now I remember, without having to read through them, that some people claimed within their comments that this was a fake, a joke, a hoaks so to say, considering that it's been in works for so long and there are tons of other Zelda related movies on the web. True. Especially with this year's IGN release, which, by the way, totally kicked ass! I'll be returning to this later
Anyways, and since I LOVE being a stubborn bitch, I continued to follow their work, checking updates and so on. And the shit hit the fan! In a very good way! For you see (and GODS do I wish I'd live in Los Angeles right now), they've placed an announcement on the official website of The Hero of Time that there will be a screening of the movie on November 14th in LA!!! WOOHOO!!!! They're also going to announce the release on the web of the movie! Read for yourselves:
"We are excited to announce that The Hero of Time will be screened in Los Angeles on Saturday, November 14th at the James Bridges Theatre (UCLA) at 7:00PM! Wed love to meet all of you from the west coast and hear what you think of the film! Mark your calendars! Also, for additional incentive purposes, we will be making a HUGE announcement about the worldwide online release date for The Hero of Time at the Los Angeles screening! So dont miss it!"
They've also released a couple of soundtracks done for the movie by George R. Powell. I downloaded them and listening to it as I type this and I must say it's really great besides epic! Although the trailers show a rather cheesy plot, I hope it's still going to be a great success!
Which brings me back to the IGN movie trailer released on April 1st this year. According to them, they made that trailer in order to show Nintendo as well as great producers that it IS possible to make a Zelda movie and that a lot of fans would die to see it. Personally, I'm growing tired of all those same-based movies that are plastered with CG crap (computer graphics) and rather unrealistic shit such as people jumping 10/20meters into the air without much effort or killing a 10foot tall beast with the tip of a rusty knife. I'd kill for an epic fantasy based movie that could and should place LotR in the shadows. The last I saw, Eragon, based on the novel, was a ripoff and I want my money and time back.
In any case, you can go here [link] to read it yourselves, check the news, download the tracks I spoke of, maybe even consider of going to see it (I would if I could... *emos*).
I so hope this awakens the interest of producers and they get Nintendo to give permission to make a Zelda movie based on the OoT plot (Twilight's good too, but lets face it, OoT's story kicks ass besides having brought millions of new fans to the series; me included!).
Now before I stop annoying you with this, I read some comments about the trailers (rants included, claiming it sucked, but let them burn in hell) and some said it would be best to make a Zelda movie in CGI and not real people. Personally, I'd prefer real people, it gives it more exctasy and enthusiasm besides returning to the roots of filming, seeing that most movies if not all have TOO many computer graphics (and the last TMNT movie wasn't all that great and I'm a BIG turtle fan and was like wtf is this shit?).
What do you think? Should there be a Zelda movie done with real people, only the effects being done on the computer, or the whole thing on the computer like Toy Story or the recent Up?
Ok, I'm done now... but before I go... I'd like to say... once again... I TOLD YOU SO!!!!
